French living in Peru, I sat a small Peruvian company in Lima (YANA COSMETICS SAC) making natural cosmetics with native plants to Peru.
Our products are all natural and both the products and their ingredients reflect respect for the environment, one of the basic tenets of Yana Cosmetics. Another is to create cruelty-free products - we never use animals for testing. A third tenet is sustainable development. Throughout this project we are supporting the Andean and jungle communities of Peru through the use of ingredients produced directly from nature, and the employment of indigenous people for harvesting and pre-processing.
Yana Cosmetic's products are sold under the Mishki brand, a name inspired by a word in Quechua (the remnant Incan language) that means "sweet" and implies high self esteem.
We have 6 products:
- MISHKI cream for normal to oily skin with purple potato extract
- MISHKI cream for normal to dry skin with oil of ungurahui
- MISHKI cream for oily skin with essential oil of munia
- Exfoliating soap MISHKI with the seed of the ungurahui
- Cleansing lotion MISHKI with purple potato extract
- Cleansing water MISHKI with essential oil of munia
We worked with different dermatologists and the Peruvian Association of Dermatology to evaluate the products further and help people with skin diseases. We saw that the potato is good against discoloration and oily skin, the ungurahui helps in case of eczema, dermatitis, and the munia against the acne for the properties of the plant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.
