I engage with willing OEM's to discuss and explore cost-down issues in their businesses, in particular with manufacturing input and parts.
I advocate that the customer work DIRECTLY with my principals in Asia, who have experience in such business since 1973, this being my principal with a a very high $revenue and hence buying power in Asia.
This model of course removes the "adder" of profit margins applied by resellers/distributors, and takes advantage of lower costs and higher quality of many Asian sources, Taiwan in particular.
One additional concept that should be of interest is that many independant sources that an OEM may import from, can be grouped and managed by a single enterprise, who will act of your behalf .... like having your own office in Taiwan!.
