The distribution and export business has been run for 29 years under the adamant belief- Gwangsu Commerce Inc. was established on June 4, 1983 to distribute marine products from Jeju Island throughout the country, while developing the market in Japan and starting the exportation of marine products since 1995.- Gwangsu Commerce Inc. was converted to a corporation called Gwangsu Industrial Fishery Association Corporation on September 1, 1998 to broaden the external recognition and expand the organization due to the growing size of exportation, in an effort to make contributions to the development of fisheries industries while engaging in the distribution and export business of marine products for 28 years.* The export market was developed continuous despite the difficult conditions in the exportation- Contributions were made to improvements on income for fishermen through developing markets in Japan with raw top-shells of which the domestic consumption was thought to be difficult. The reliability of both producers and demanders was secured not through one-time exportation but through the continuous exportation.- 300 million won of an investment was made to strengthen the competitiveness of raw top-shells in Jeju Island to purchase a cargo vessel in 223 ton in terms of the international tonnage for the purpose of the direct exportation to Japan.- The exportation was addressed regardless of any loss for the preservation of income to fishermen, although the conditions on exportation were deteriorated due to the decreasing exchange rate for the Japanese Yen in addition to the degradation of the Japanese market since 2006.- The exportation has been decreased due to the great earthquake in 2011.
