Wee Tiong (S) Pte Ltd is a Singapore based company established since 1993 and started off as a local rice and sugar importer and wholesaler. We are currently one of the top players in the local market dealing with the above mentioned commodities. We supply to the whole hierarchy of buyers which include wholesalers, supermarkets, and provision shops and local hawkers alike.
For rice, our supply comes mainly from Thailand and Vietnam. We have our own in house brand, Golden Royal Jewel (Trademark), which can be found in most major supermarkets and retail provision shops.
As for sugar, we carry our own line of sugar which is a collaboration with our long time supplier from Thailand. We have our design and packaging all processed in Bangkok to save costs, thus enabling us to gain an advantage over traders who pack locally. Our perfectly refined white sugar which is packed in 1kg and 2kg under the brand TRR, can be found readily in most of the major local supermarkets.
Besides the above, we have added more commodities into our product list throughout the years, which consist of cooking oil, salt, natural rubber and wheat flour just to name a few. Currently, our local sales is only 5 to 10% of the total revenue generated yearly. Our main business and revenue is still derived from international trading
To date, we are one of the leading physical commodities trading companies in the South East Asia region, in which we specialize in trading sugar and rice. Our yearly turnover for the past 10 years averaged from S$150 to S$300 million. In 2012, we achieved a result of USD 334 million in sales turnover while profit was about USD 9 million.
