Ketiara Cooperative establish in 2009 by 38 person. In 2011 - afterjoin the Fair Trade movement - We decided to restructruce theoverall organisation into 100% small farmer organisation with totalcurrent member nearly 1000. Ibu Rahmah (our chairwomen) was thefounding of this cooperative. She was starting the whole businessas a small trader, that purchase few kilos of cherry - handprocessed - and later deliver to several traders exist in theregion. That was 20 years ago. Now, Ketiara sales to mainly localtrader/exporter in average 70 metric tons per month. Almost allworld-wide recognise trader/exporters from Medan, Sumatra, havebeen sourcing their exported green bean from Ketiara members. In2012, Olam International is our biggest buyer.
