FOS & S (Fiber Optic Sensors & Sensing Systems) is a private held company specialized in the development and commercialization of fiber optical sensing systems. The company has been founded out the roots of I. D. Fos Research in 2001 and has branches in Belgium and Hong Kong.
Based on the more than 14 years experience of I. D. Fos Research, FOS & S is now able to supply and support a very wide technology portfolio regarding fiber optical sensing solutions within different market segments: Aerospace, Oil industry, Process industry, Mining industry and Civil engineering.
FOS & S provides standard sensing products and also develops customized products to meet customers' requirements. Fos & S is trying to find the best way to customers' satisfaction by developing new products and technologies.
Besides direct sales and product development, FOS & S is also active as total solution integrator. Fos & S possesses a high skilled engineering team for the installation, follow up and maintenance of sensing networks such that customers are not supposed to have detailed knowledge regarding fibre optical sensing technologies in order to get the maximum out of their system.

Xenics
FOS & S and Xenics are involved in several joint developments for the Aerospace Industry. Within the framework of the IFSA project an optical monitoring system for In-Flight Aircraft Structural Analysis has been developped. An other joint development is a monitoring system for Multi-Axial Stress and Strain sensing of spacecraft composite elements using Fibre Optic Sensors (MASSFOS) .
FBGS Technologies
FBGS technologies is a privately held company specialized in the manufacturing and commercialization of high reliable Fibre Bragg Grating sensors. Fbgs technologies masters an innovative highly automated production process which allows writing Fibre Bragg Gratings during the drawing of the fibre (Draw Tower Gratings) .
Omnisens
As distributor of Omnisens, FOS & S has access to the latest technology with respect to the Stimulated Brillouin Scattering interrogation systems. The close relationship with Omnisens allows FOS & S to provide the most cost effective and performant SBS solution as well as a trained engineering team to install and maintain such sensing network.
DBE TECHNOLOGY
The engineering team of FOS & S is for more than 10 years a privileged partner of DBE Technologies for the development and commercialization of safety monitoring systems for nuclear waste repository sites.
