The culm is then cut into poles, crushed and milled and then formed into pellets or briquettes.These products finally end up supplying GREEN electricity to industry, business and thousands of homes in Europe.While trees take many years to reproduce, bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world. It grows without the use of chemicals and does not take away land used for food production.Therefore, by farming bamboo and not trees, we are sustaining the environment and the livelihood of the local farmers and workers, and not destroying it for short term gains.
