Standards organisation of Nigeria is asatutory body vested with the responsibility of establishing minimum required standard for products, standardising of same and regulating locally manufactured good in terms of required Nigeria industrial standard. It is also the body responsible for the elaboration of standards.It was enacted by the act 51 of 1979 of the federal republic of Nigeria. it has six major departments namely:1. FOOD/CODEX2. CIVIL AND BUILDING3. MECHANICAL4. LETHER AND TEXTILE5. CHEMISTRY TECHNOLOGY6. ELECTRICAL ELECTRONICS
