History
In 1977, Mr BOUCHAALA Zouheir launched EBZ (Enterprise BOUCHAALA Zouheir) (BOUCHAALA Zouheir Enterprise) specialized in street lighting works. His knowhow skills and his passion allowed his company to operate on the local market and open up to the Libyan market.
This successful start-up and the will to engage into industrial activities have been a strong impetus to install a new unit for design and manufacture of lighting columns in 1983. This control activity has benefited the company to develop a good reputation among local and foreign clients; mainly Libyans who are satisfied with the quality of products as well as proposed solutions.
In 1999, and following its policy of company integration, SIMEG is legally established on rural departments and it is specialized in:
- The design and manufacture of lighting columns from 2 to 40m with an annual production capacity of 40,000 candelabra.
- The design, manufacture and installation of luminary with an annual capacity of 100,000 units.
- The design, fabrication and installation of accessories of Public lighting.
In 2005, SIMEG expanded its export market by developing its sales in the Libyan and African markets.
Since 2009, the group has been growing again by the establishment of "SIMEG Plus" which is specialized in the design and manufacture of low, medium and high voltage power transmission as well as those needed for renewable energy and for GSM transmission such as: telephone poles, steel lighting columns, PVC reinforced poles, powder coated poles, posts style, ... pylons HT transmission towers, GSM towers...
Its annual production capacity is estimated at 50.000 tons/year for the angles.
In 2010, the group installed its own hot deep galvanizing plant "SIMEG GALVANO" whose production capacity is estimated at 100,000 tons per year. The plant is equipped with installed technology that allows for reassuring the principal with the quality of galvanizing, which is essential for successful turnkey projects.
The year 2011 saw the establishment of a new unit "SIMEG GLISSIERE" that manufactures steel highway guard rails in 2 and 3 waves.
