It was when he saw the importance of the collectiveprofessional skills and knowledge on biomechanics, health andshoemaking to rightly cater the needs of the patients.He was one of the founders of the Brazilian Technical OrthopedicAssociation and one of the most recognized professionals in theBrazilian orthopedic industry. It was some time after the healthcare system got the Hansen disease under control, he began applyinghis knowledge on benefit of the diabetics.After some time, because of the quality of his work in making shoesfor his own patients with diabetic and rheumatic foot, manyorthopedic shops and professionals throughout the country beganasking him to produce shoes for their customers.Therefore, in 2000 he decided to inaugurate a shoe manufacturingplant to cope with the increasing demand, thats how the firstBrazilian diabetic shoe manufacturer ORTHOP was born.The company today not only benefit from his expertise but also fromhis sons, Jose Marcelo Carvalho, who spent his childhood workingand learning with his father at the orthopedic clinic. Jose Marcelograduated in Physical Therapy, earned a Orthesist and Prothesistdegree with the prestigious Universidade Don Bosco in the DominicanRepublic and a post graduation degree with the UniversidadePaulista de Medicina in So Paulo.With this very unique DNA of complementary professionalcompetencies we have been not only servicing orthopedic shops, butalso expanded our business to supply therapeutic shoes fornon-profit health institution and hospitals in Brazil and in LatinAmerica.We are very much passionate about making good products.
