Nexgen is the first company in Korea that develops the second generation of plant biotechnology. Since its founding in 1999, Nexgen becomes a unique venture company in Korea that pursues the next generation of biotechnology. Nexgen aims to produce the highly valuable items for medicine, agriculture, and industry.Thus, Nexgen' sapproach to plant biotechnology is innovative and diverse, in which plant can be used as an efficient factory for the production of medical, agricultural, and industrial agents. This approach to the plant is different from the initial use of plant biotechnology (the first generation of plant biotechnology) in that plant itself was genetically improved to high productivity. These genetically modified crops arereluctantly consumed for human beings. Nexgen's proficiency expands to the fields of molecular farming of the useful proteins for cosmetics and industrial process, edible human vaccine for oral vaccination, phytoremediation for the maintenance of uncontaminated environment, and transgenic plants and floriculture for long-term survival. Nexgen is in alliance with a variety of domestic and foreign companies. Moreover, Nexgen supports many laboratories of domestic universities to improve and hone its technologies.
