As a major global mobile communication standard, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) has been used by more than half of world subscribers and has expanded beyond its European origins to the whole world. Considering the growth rate of GSM/GPRS subscription, 390 million users in 2000 will be expected to grow to 930 million users by 2006. With the importance of multi-media information and user entertainment function. GSM has been upgraded to GPRS(General Packet Radio System) and is preparing evolution to 3G(3rd Generation). In order to tap this emerging market, Maxon has been introducing GPRS products and projecting 3G line-up. At the center of these efforts, our R&D centers are capable of developing 5~7 new models and their variant models each year. With these benefits of multi R&D Centers and various model line-up, Maxon GSM and GPRS phones are expected to enjoy rapid growth in all world markets in the coming years.
