The padlock- securedhousing deters unauthorized access to the hydrant’s operatingnut.With the lockin place, the outer shell rotates freely in either direction aroundan inner operating nut extension that is secured to the hydrant’soperating nut, thereby preventing the hydrant operating nut frombeing turned.Fast accessto the operating nut simply requires removing the padlock andflipping the top cover back 180°. No parts to remove except for thepadlock!KingLockshave an integral instrument cavity in the head, into which anoptional alarm package can be installed at any time in thefield.The alarmpackage includes a high frequency 120dB electronic alarm that willsound within 33 seconds if an alarm code is not entered on amembrane protected keypad after the KingLock’s hinged cover istilted past a preset position.The 9-voltbattery has an 18 month life expectancy under normal use.
