COMPANY PROFILERELL & RENN FISHING CORPORATION (RRFC) was established on 5September 1997 and started as a small family-owned deep sea fishingoperation with only one set of vessels composed of a mother fishingboat, two fish carriers and four light boats. To-date, it has over100 vessels operating within the Philippine Exclusive Economic Zone(EEZ) and international waters to support its deep sea fishingoperations.R&R is primarily engaged in fresh and frozen fish operationsable to source its own supply of tuna and related tuna species(yellow fin, skipjack, bullet), round scad, big-eyed scad, goldenpompano, and octopus among others. It is also currently intoculture and pond management of milkfish, tilapia and shrimps(Vanamei). R&R is a key player in supplying tuna and itsrelated species to the tuna canneries and processors of thePhilippines and the local wet market of Mindanao.In 2002, the company built its own ice plant, wharf, andelectro-mechanical shop to support its fishing operations under anew entity RRCS MARINE & INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION(RRCS MIDC). Not only does it employ the latest and upgradedvessels for fresh and frozen fish operations, R&R is alsoequipped with state-of-the-art equipment for its 1,000MT capacitycold storages, chiller rooms, contact freezers and blast freezersensuring that the seafood products it produces are always fresh,safe and meets strict quality standards.In 2005, R&R setup the processing facility RELL & RENNSEAFOOD SPHERE, INC. (RRSSI), to cater to the growing demand forfrozen seafood serving the premium markets of Japan, Canada and theUSA in the world market. At present, the company can deliverseafood in various forms – fresh, frozen, brined or processed. Withthe EU accreditation of its processing facility, the company is nowready to serve the European market.In 2007, R&R put up another plant, PRIME KATSUOBUSHI PHILIPPINES, INC.(PKPI) to produce high quality smoked fish(Katsuobushi) for the international market. Katsuobushi is theJapanese name for the preparation of dried, fermented and smokedtuna. This Japanese-designed processing facility encompassesfunctionality and operations comparable to Katsuobushi plants basedin Japan ensuring the production of top of the line products, whichconform to stringent quality standards and are then exported tovarious parts of Japan.In 2011, RELL & RENN FISHING (PNG) LTD. was established withprincipal place of business at Papua New Guinea. This incorporationmarked a milestone in the RRFC Group of Companies as this is thefirst venture outside the Philippines and paved the way for thecompany to have an emerging presence in the important PacificRegion of Papua New Guinea. PNG waters account for 32% of the WorldTuna supply and 34% of the Western and Central Pacific Ocean (WCPO)catch. RRFPNG Ltd. commenced its first commercial shippingoperation in PNG waters on 1 December 2011. Its vessels are beingmanned by Filipino and Papua New Guinea nationals. It aims tooffload 100% of its catch to PNG tuna canneries and processors.With the continued expansion of its fishing operations, the R&RGroup of Companies decided to venture into distribution and retailoperations bringing its products closer to consumers and at moreaffordable prices. iFRESHCORPORATION, with office located at 1201 JollibeePlaza, Ortigas, Pasig City was recently established for thispurpose. Soon it will be operating butcher shops offering a widevariety of seafood and its complementary products all over thePhilippine domestic market.
