Hiwave was founded in 1998 by Haewoon Lee, who had been working as an engineer in the various fields of electronics engineering such as RF/MW, broadcasting equipment and radio navigations.

Hiwave has been a leader in the market of such items as WCDMA transceiver, 5.8GHz/ ITS transceiver, components for the air force radars, cellular repeaters and UHF RFID reader module.
