Quang Binh Bohemia Kaolin washing plant is located on the Bac Ly kaolin mine, 5 km from Dong Hoi town, Quang Binh. Its capacity is about 20 million ton of kaolin. The plant is invested by the group BGM Group, one of the largest Czech machine industry holdings. History of the company
The deposit of kaolin in Bac Ly is located in ca 5 km from the centre of the largest town of province Quang Binh Dong Hoi. It is a primary deposit of kaolin acid pegmatite of granite cluster of the accompanying volcanic system. The first exploration of the deposit was performed at the end of the 60's of the 20th century already, but the deposit was mapped in greater detail in the 90's only in connection with considerations about the start of mining of kaolin.
In 1999 the company Quang Binh Bohemia Kaolin Company, Ltd. (in abbreviation QBBK) obtained the licence for mining of kaolin and construction of the plant for its processing. The construction was started in 2002, however, due to financial problems of the original investor the process of construction stopped. Only after the takeover of the project by the company TRADE B.G.M. a.s. on December 1, 2008 the stage of construction was successfully completed and in 2010 the operation of the plant started.
