  • Company Introduction

A family-run businessfounded by Franco Iacobelli, since 1995 formishas been recreatingantique prints whose accuracy to the originals results in exquisiteand prestigious artistic creations. These beautiful andinteresting subjects are important for the historical andgeographical information they offer. They embrace varioushistorical periods in which mans evolution has enabled him to widenhis horizons by learning more and more about the surroundingenvironment, its representation and measurements. These works also have aremarkable esthetic effect making them perfect for homes andoffices where they may be admired  and be the subject ofinteresting conversation. The entirecatalog includes items of various types, from large world mapsto maps and views of cities, which, besides the traditional frame, can be hung as tapestries. The accuracy in theproduction of these works is not simply a slogan. In order to create andmake available items of such elegance and beauty, naturally thesame techniques and the same materials employed at the time had tobe used. The printing of manysubjects employs the use of copper plates upon a manual press thusproducing one of the main characteristics of our work:engraving. The final result allowsus to feel with our fingers the texture of the material, follow thelines, writings and figures that make up the actualwork. The drawing istransferred onto a support of 100% pure cotton of the correctweight, which gives the work softness and suppleness which aretruly unique. In order to recreate theatmosphere and allure of the works of art of the past, the paperwas aged by hand, one sheet at a time, by a process which usesstrictly organic substances. This process, too, tendsto make each engraving different from the others, because thismethod is not, and never will be, uniform andinvariable.Next, the paper is cutand anchored to a canvas backing, this too made of pure cotton, which is skillfully aged using the same technique as that used forthe paper support. This process allows theworks to be folded easily and thus can be betterpreserved. The last -- but no lessimportant -- step is the coloring with watercolors, done byexperts, which gives the paper that polychrome appearance with itsundoubted scenic effect.Naturally, the colors tobe used are chosen in consideration of the original colors and alsothe changes which the watercolors of the original artists haveundergone over the centuries, obtaining a result that can give theenjoyable feeling of reliving a long ago past. The primary objective ofthe entire operation is to create a product which is once againrendered in its original beauty and which has regained itshistorical-cultural value.Passion, soundprinciples and maximum attention to detail are the values thatdefine the reliability of formis: from the founder Franco Iacobellito his son Alessandro, this artisan company pursue the highestquality combined with the most authentic Made in Italy.
