For the last few years, Emalex has been the paradigm of innovation and determination within the, US, Nigerian and South African mobile telecommunication industry. We have grown to become one of the leading domestic brand by achieving astonishing sales results, surpassing all foreign brands in 2003 to become the top mobile phone supplier to the US, Nigerian and South African market.
In the past 4 years, Emalex has adopted a two-fold, technical development strategy in order to improve research and development. First, we have set up research operations with such manufacturers as Nokia, Samsung, Siemens, BroadCo., Motorola, and Philips. Second, a joint venture R&D institute with Sagem of France has also been initiated on how to help sale market for international traders. Currently, our annual R&D budget is over 9% of total turnover. We maintain five research institutes located throughout US, Nigeria, and S/A supported by a team of over 100 staff, including Ph. D and Masters recipients, as well as foreign experts.
