BraeburnUniquely a New Zealand apple, Braeburn is particularly suited toour climate here in Hawkes Bay. Picked during late March and April,it is largest production apple. Medium to large in size, it is ajuicy crisp apple with firm flesh and clean sweet flavours.Braeburns are great for eating or baking and stores well.2. Royal GalaDeveloped in New Zealand, Royal Gala is most popular early variety.It has subtle sweet flavours and crisp firm white flesh. We harvestthese in late February through to late March. Royal Gala has abright red blush on a creamy yellow background. It is a fine eatingapple and great for salads.3. Pink Lady TMThis variety was bred in Australia and is grown on dwarf rootstockat selected orchards. Our aim is to maximize ripening and brixlevels for this late harvest variety. A crisp, crunchy apple it hassweet and tart flavours with a cream dense flesh. Thisprovocatively named apple has a pink blush colour on a palebackground. It makes excellent eating.4. NZ RoseAn exciting variety, bred in New Zealand as a superior looking andsweet eating apple. This apple has a bright future and has amarketing strategy to promote it. With a unique rose pink skincolour, New Zealand Rose has sweet flavours and crisp juicy flesh.It has a round shape with a smooth thick non-greasy skin.5. FujiOriginally from Japan, this aromatic apple has firm texture andsmooth clean skin. New Zealands largest grower of this very popularAsian variety, which is harvested in late March and April. Red DeliciousOften referred to as the Americans favourite apple, this classicheart shaped apple is striped to solid red in colour. Cosmeticallyvery attractive, their sweet crisp flesh makes Red Delicious verypopular in India, the Middle East and South East Asian markets.Harvest from mid March to mid April.7.NZ QueenDeveloped in a New Zealand natural breeding programme, NZ Queen isa cross between Gala and Splendour.
