Company Introduction
Aion, as a pioneer of PVA sponges, has been providing cleaning, moisture-absorption, polishing, and wipe-up materials not just to electronics industry but also to other industrial sectors, in products that Aion continually strives to ensure will satisfy customers' needs and desires in numerous applications. Aion adopts the same principles for applications in connection with home consumer products. Aion's history as a manufacturer of PVA sponges extends more than 60 years, including a period as the former Kanebo Inc.
Corporate History
July 1951 Kanegafuchi Boseki Corp. patents PVA sponge production methods. Kanegafuchi Boseki later renamed Kanebo Corp.
August 1952 A Kanegafuchi Boseki's subsidiary commences business operations for PVA sponge production.
August 1962 PVA-sponge producing subsidiary merges with its parent company, Kanegafuchi Boseki.
August 1969 PVA-sponge production factory relocated, as the currently-named Kanto Plant, from area alongside Sumida River in Tokyo to its current location in Kitatone Kogyo-Danchi, Ibaraki Prefecture.
September 1999 Kanebo acquires ISO9001 certification.
December 1999 Aion Corp. takes over Kanebo's chemical products division and is founded as a wholly-owned subsidiary of SOFT99 Corp.
March 2006 Aion acquires ISO14001 certification.
November 2013 Aion establishes regional office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
