A. Costs to the importer can vary depending on the country in which the transaction is conducted and the particular arrangements negotiated between the parties. The U.S. exporter pays a fee to the CCC, in advance, to obtain each guarantee. For GSM-102 guarantees, fee rates are less than 1 percent of the value of the sale. Fees are higher for the longer credit periods of GSM-103. Exact fees are based on announced CCC fee rate schedules.
