Terrace Technologies Inc. is a startup company that was established in June 2000 by engineers who worked at the forefront of the Internet industry at Dacom Cheollian, which was a leading Internet company during the early days of the Internet boom in Korea. Internet email existed even before the Internet became popular. Today, it is one of the world's most critical communication channels not just for personal use but as a critical business communication tool. Internet email is further becoming more and more important in people's lives, with mail traffic increasing 1.5 times faster than the growth of the number of e-mail accounts. Such a trend is bound to continue considering various variables such as the further development of the wireless environment, spam, and e-mail viruses. E-mail traffic is also projected to increase, with the frequency of sending/receiving e-mail increasing by 100% every three to four years. Such an explosive growth in mail traffic requires enormous social and economic expense. Terrace originally developed the Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) to stably and quickly handle large volumes e-mail traffic. Our achievement with this solution earned us the KT Mark awarded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Korea as a quality certification to newly developed technologies in Korea. We also developed the SpamWatcher, which is designed to effectively block spam and blended threats for internet email system.
