The Precision Casting Division of PBS Velka Bites, a. s. is one of the leading foundries in Europe, manufacturing precision investment castings. The tradition of this production dates back to 1969. Thus, the division uses more than 40 years of experience in ensuring an optimized manufacturing process for the timely supply of high quality castings.The division casts complex castings from nickel and cobalt-based superalloys, high-alloyed and low-alloyed steels and high-alloyed cast iron. Casting materials are melted either in electric induction furnaces with subsequent stationary casting in air, or in vacuum furnaces, one of which enables rotational casting.The Precision Casting Division is also able to ensure centrifugal casting, both in open and vacuum furnaces. The casting weight ranges between 0.05 kg and 44 kg. The surface of the castings is processed by blasting or tumbling. The range of products meets the requirements of even the most demanding customers.Production Programme of Precision Casting Division:Automotive industry- Wheels and blades of turbochargers- Turbocharger componentsThe Precision Casting Division is specialized in the precise casting of the blades and impeller wheels and guide wheels of turbochargers. The castings are manufactured of IN 713C, IN 713LC and N 155 alloys. Based on drawings of the finished structural parts, we are able to design and make necessary pattern equipment - a mould for wax pattern pressing, and, after it, developing optimal technology for the casting and the delivery of the castings in required quality. The turbocharger wheels, blades and components are delivered to all turbocharger manufacturers in the Czech Republic, to three manufacturers in Germany and to one manufacturer in Switzerland.Power industry- Rotor and stator blades of gas turbinesWe cast moving and guide blades of stationary gas turbines. The castings are made of IN 738C, IN 713LC, Mar M247 and N 155 alloys. The blade castings are delivered to the USA, Germany and Czech Republic.Aerospace industry- Moving and guide wheels of auxiliary power units- Components of aircraft air conditioning systems- Moving and guide wheels of the TJ 100 turbojet engineWe cast rotors and guide wheels of the auxiliary power units for the Aircraft Technique Division . These are technically complex castings of IN 713LC alloy working at temperatures up to 950 °C. Furthermore, we cast components of aircraft air conditioning systems. The most demanding castings include precision castings of rotors and guide wheels for the TJ 100 turbojet engine . These castings are made of IN 713LC and IN 792-5A alloys.Glass industry - glass wool- Spinner disks for glass wool fiberizingWe are specialized in the castings of spinner disks for glass wool fiberizing which are delivered to glass wool manufacturers in the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Great Britain. These complex castings are made of nickel-based superalloys 141I or 2.4879, or of Co alloys.Health sector- Knee replacementsThese are castings for medical purposes. With regard to their purpose, they are subject to strict requirements. We have managed the technology of precision casting of more than ten various types of castings of cobalt-based superalloys. The foundry staff takes part in the development of other types.Open furnace castingsThe Precision Casting Division cast also less demanding castings of low alloy steels, however only to utilize our capacity in full.Moulds for precise castingThe ultra precision metallic moulds for the manufacture of wax patterns are made by a subcontractor. The moulds ensure high precision of castings which cannot be achieved by any other casting technology. The moulds are designed by our specialists using the Pro/ENGINEER software.
