Iridian Spectral Technologies is a privately owned Canadian Corporation providing spectral solutions for customers using its highly advanced proprietary thin film technology. The design and deposition process control software, PrecisionSpectrum at IST, and the optical characterization and filter processing technology, PrecisionScan at IST, give competitive advantages in the manufacture of thin film optical components.
Applications of the technology include a wide range of telecommunication and Bio-Medical filters but the company also designs and manufactures custom thin film filters for other areas of application. During the period October 2000-April 2002, the company was a wholly owned subsidiary of JDS Uniphase. However, in April 2002 a management group bought back control of the company and it is now a completely independent company.
