The company was founded early in the 20th century as a dairy, and later converted to tomato processing in 1948.
It continued to operate in this sector for about 30 years with a standard of quality that won it many awards at the national and international level.
It can rightly be said that Carra is one of the oldest canneries on the Italian peninsula, and that is has succeeded in capitalizing, year after year, on the experience and orientation transmitted by the market and economic world, adapting to changing needs, investing in technology and resources according to a modern concept of business management and with a view to constant improvement in terms of productivity, never for speculative or self-serving purposes.
Later, with the proliferation over the years of many other companies that, more or less lightheartedly, got into the booming sector of tomato processing and canning, the company diversified, leaving the tomato processing sector and entering the sector of vegetable preserves, to which it applied its well-developed industrial mentality and the skills of its owners in creating valid recipes.
