Valonia is used in tanning andretanning processes of various types of leathers.Accordingly with this property valonia is mainly used in the production of sole leather. Additionally, with the help of different tanning methods and the subsequent further processings the leathers, it is possible to obtain soft and flexible leathers as well as firm leathers. And these leathers can be used for furniture upholstery leather, shoe upper leather, lining leather and for the production of leathergoods. The leathers tanned with valeks have better light fastness and lower water absorption properties then many other vegetable tanned leathers
