Alpha logistics is part of a bigger company called The Bacup Shoe company, incorporated in 1928. The Alpha division was formed in 2002 after the company had ceased manufacturing in the UK. The main reason for forming Alpha was to utilise the redundant warehouse space, however it was also a consideration that unemployment levels in the area were rising rapidly as the remaining manufacturers moved production to the Far East. This left a large skilled workforce with little or no employment options. Alpha helped to put some of that workforce to good use. We initially started in the footwear industry, rectifying problems such as stitching errors, glueing, attaching eyelets etc. but we have now diversified into general processing and rework. We have 150, 000 sq ft of warehouse space. All customers stock is fully inventoried and reports are prepared weekly. Many customers choose to keep stock in component form until required, by taking advantage of our pick & pack service. We maintain a database of casual workers in order to increase production when required. We welcome any opportunity to quote for manual processes companies wish to outsource. We are happy to comply with any specific requirements regarding necessary procedures. We already have a variety of machines for different processes, however the company is also happy to invest in new equipment as and when it is needed.
