Products & Services
SC consists of several specialized sections working jointly to achieve the company's objectives, be me starting from the accurate calculation of time and costs for bidding to re-commissioning of the repaired machine, focusing on:
Store management ensuring materials availability, paying special attention to their proper storage and specific lifetimes.
Supervision of work with tough application of company's quality control instructions.
Complete repair of electrical machines by application of both rich-resin and VPI technologies and execution of NDT tests and mechanical repairs up to dynamic balancing.
Step-by-step implementation of all required electrical tests as per EASA, IEC and customer's technical conditions.

Coil Design & Manufacture
The workshop can handle insulated and non-insulated wires to wind,
reshape and press under heat application in order to produce complete coils ready for final use. The original specifications with regards to insulation class and materials specifications are considered minimum requirements.

LV & HV Motors & Generator Repair
As of the end of 2008, more than 320 motors with capacities ranging from 250 to 3350 kW and 30 generators with capacities up to 6500 kVA and voltages up to 10.5 kV had been repaired here. AC, DC, flame-proof, and Ex-proof motors and generators undergo complete refurbishment to their original capacity and degree of protection.

Transformers
Transformer general maintenance: SC has executed general overhauling of transformers with capacities up to 145 MVA. This included test and inspection of the protection devices following international norms and replacements whenever necessary.
On special request, SC has manufactured special transformers, such as excitation

Variable Power Supply Units
At the beginning of 2009, SC finished manufacturing a motor-driven 3-ph, 1000 kVA variable power supply unit. The variable-voltage transformer and its enclosure have been completely manufactured in SC's workshops with VPI technology. This unit has an input of 0-400 V transformer, output range from 0.05 to 11.5 kV. Voltage varies smoothly in small taps and un-disconnectedly.

Dynamic Balancing
AIL rotating machines undergo dynamic balancing before leaving SC's workshop. The workshop is prepared to perform balancing on rotors up to 3.5 m length, 1.2 m in diameter and 3.5 t of weight. On request of the client, SC has performed in-situ full-speed balancing on a rotor of a 28 MVA generator.

Syrian Coil Company, established in 1989, is the leading Syrian firm reputed for quality repair and rewinding of large-capacity low and medium-voltage motors, medium-range generators and transformers, and the general overhauling of all capacities.
In the past two decades, we have successfully carried out repair/rewinding / re-insulation / redesigning and modification of windings of high and medium voltage motors (up to 6.6 KV, 2500 kW, and 11 KV, 1000 kW), general overhauling of generators (up to 10.5 KV, 28 MVA) and power transformers (up to 230 KV, 125 MVA).
After specializing in electrical power engineering and graduating in the Higher Industrial Institute in Egypt in 1970, Mahmoud worked in many fields in his homeland in Syria, especially in the power stations of oil fields.
In the early nineties of the last century, he decided to enter the adventure of investment in knowledge and technology, his own capital.
He chose the field of MV and HV Electrical Motors and Transformers coils manufacture and repair, after experiencing that all these equipment were either sent to Europe or replaced with new ones. This was a technical and national challenge to him, which he couldn't resist.
He, with his brothers and friends, started his project depending on locally and self-manufactured machinery, to know more and- of course- save money.
The Company started work in difficult conditions in 1993, to become the pioneer in its field in Syria and the neighborhood.
He died at the end of 2009, leaving behind his partners and inheritants of his knowledge, spirits and the courage to innovate.
