- Advantages of formic acid for cleaning:

- Calcium salts form when calcium carbonate is dissolved by means of an acid like formic or phosphoric. The more readily soluble this salt, the lower the risk of salt deposits that reduce acid effectiveness. The calcium salt of formic acid is about ten times more soluble than that of phosphoric acid.
Excellent environmental compatibility:
- Formic acid does not release phosphate or nitrate by-products that pose a potential risk of eutrophication. Formic acid degradation consumes the least amount of oxygen among organic acids.

The advantage of Formate Salts used as deicing agent
Compared with its acetate counterpart, potassium formate is “greener”.
Formate salts are less corrosive and have a lesser impact on surrounding flora, which makes them more plant- and pet-friendly. Entry breaks down hydrogen bonds formed when water freezes, reducing the freezing point of water to approximately minus 63 degrees Fahrenheit. As a result, once the product is sprayed, it removes thin layers of ice and snow and prevents new snow from accumulating or icing.
