Nanjing Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred as NISCO)is located in the northeast of Nanjing city (25km away from thedowntown area), the ancient capital of six dynasties of China,located in the economy developed Yangtze Delta Zone. Goldenwatercourse of Yangtze River is in the south of NISCO and NISCO hasa self-owned fixed port of 10000 ton. In the west NISCO is close toNingtong highway (from Nanjing to Nantong), Ninglian highway (fromNanjing to Lianyungang）andNingluo Highway（from Nanjingto Luoyang）which are connectedwith 4 Nanjing Yangtze River Bridges and Huning Expressway (fromShanghai to Nanjing). The self- owned railway is also connectedwith Jingpu railway （fromBeijing to Pukou District of Nanjing）. So the transportation is veryconvenient no matter by water，land or train. NISCO is inherited from Nanjing Iron & Steel Group Co., Ltd.built in 1958. Now it has developed into an extra-large iron andsteel complex which takes the high value added plates as its mainproducts and takes the high quality special long product as itssupport products after 50 years’ development through hardworkingand innovation. Now NISCO has the annual production capacity of 8.5million tons of steel about half of which are steel plates/coils.The capacity is up to 10 million tons after the new 4700mm wideplate making line and new medium size bar line put into use in2013. The maximum plate width is up to 4700mm. NISCO now has about 12000 staffs, among which around 2200 aremanagerial and technical staffs. NISCO has a whole production linestarting from raw material yard, coking , sintering , iron making,steelmaking to steel rolling. The main business of NSICO is ironand steel making , steel rolling and its products sales. NISCOproduction line includes iron making, steel making, bar production,wire rod production, plate/coil production, narrow stripproduction, flat bulbs, angle iron, and further processing. Among Chinese steel companies which have the production capacity ofmore than 5 million tons of steel, NISCO ranked top 3 consistentlyin recent years in terms of steel production, labor productivityand net asset profit rate, profit per capita and profit & taxper capita and comprehensive index for economic efficiency. During its development, NISCO has put great emphasis on technicalinnovation, importing a large amount of state-of art technologiesand equipment and consistently developing new products. At present,NISCO covers 6 serials of products of plates, coils, bars, wirerods, strips and flat bulb steel, producing mainly plates forpipeline, high strength plates, wear resistant plates, plates forlow temperature pressure vessels, shipbuilding plates, bridgebuilding plates, plates for high rise building , plates forwind tower, atmospheric corrosion resistant plates, tube blanksteel, bearing steel, gear steel, alloyed structural steel, springsteel, cold heading steel, tool steel, alloyed welding wire rods,free cutting steel, wires for tire cord, atmospheric corrosionresistant strips and so on.
