The beginning of the yarn production goes back to 1920. So slovensky hodvab is one of the oldest chemical yarn producers in the central europe.
The company has been only producing viscose filament yarn till 1970 and a new polyester filament yarn producion plant was built on akzo licence in senica after 1970.
Polyester filament yarn have a predominant position in a yarn production program of slovensky hodvab, j. S. C.
From 1993 is slovensky hodvab producer of pet preforms and from 2005 pet flakes too.
